Perspectives on Saving Money in Portland

After years of gathering information on savings and discounts for my favorite activities (shopping, recreation, events and restaurants) in newspapers, flyers, bulletin boards and signs wherever I go, I decided it was finally time to gather all of these pieces of information together in a place where I, and all of my friends and family, could easily access the information. My piles of saved articles, brochures and flyers about sales, discounts, coupons, and special offers had grown so tall that they were toppling over, and it was becoming difficult to find specific information when I wanted it. Now my goal is to gradually document all of those wonderful ways to save money here on Penny Pinching in Portland. I hope you will stop by again to check out my progress and to find some new tips for saving money. If you have tips of your own to share, I would love to hear from you.

Perspectives on Me

My name is Chris Anderson, and I have lived in Portland, Oregon since 1980. In these past thirty years, I have been a student, employee, newlywed, homemaker, mother, Sunday School teacher, church and community volunteer, and entrepreneur. The Penny Pinching in Portland web site is sponsored by my current business, CHRIS COMPUTES.

It’s been a full life, but through it all there has been a common thread of saving money wherever possible so that I could enjoy a good time or buy something at the store that I particularly wanted while still having money for the necessities. Penny pinching has been a way of life for as far back as I can remember.
